“Remember, you must live.”

If the idea of Memento Mori feels bleak, Memento Vivere looks at the same concept in a different light. It’s a reminder that you must carefully hold the tension between the brevity of life and the gift it is to live it. It places more emphasis on the latter and I think for some that can feel like a softer, gentler sort of affirmation.

This is a 9-colour silkscreen print. The large astronomy chart behind is a shimmering gold. The design was created as a collage of my own drawing and scans of vintage anatomical and botanical illustrations.
